Report an absence or that you're running late

When plans change, you can tell your child's teachers in one tap. There are two quick actions: let them know your child won't be in today, or send an ETA when you're running late for pickup.

"Won't make it today"

One tap tells the room your child isn't coming in today.

1. Open your child's screen.
2. Choose Won't make it today.
3. If you'd like, add a short reason. It's optional: the action works on a single tap.

Behind the scenes this creates a planned absence for today (a same-day start and end) and notifies the assigned classroom teachers right away. There's nothing else to do; the absence shows up alongside the room's other absences for the day.

Send a pickup ETA when you're running late

If you're going to be late picking up, you can broadcast an estimated arrival time so the teachers know to expect you.

1. Open your child's screen.
2. Send a pickup ETA and enter how many minutes away you are.
3. The estimate can be anywhere from 1 to 240 minutes (up to four hours). If you're going to be longer than that, you almost certainly mean to report the day as an absence instead: use Won't make it today.

Your ETA goes straight to the assigned classroom teachers as a push notification and on their live room view. It's a heads-up only: it isn't recorded in your child's daily log, so there's nothing for you to update later.
