Message your school
Open the Families conversation to reply, react, and share photos or PDFs with your child's teachers.
Messages is where you and your child's teachers keep an ongoing conversation. It's a back-and-forth thread, not a one-off form: share a heads-up about the morning, answer a question from a teacher, or pass along a photo or a doctor's note.
Find the Families conversation
Open Messages. Your conversations all live in one place (the Families lane), so there's no inbox to sort through. Tap a conversation to open the full thread and catch up on what's been said.
Reply to a message
Type your reply in the box at the bottom of the thread and send it. Teachers see it right away, and you'll see theirs as they come in.
React to a message
Want to acknowledge a message without typing? Add a reaction. The choices are β€οΈ, π, π, π, and π€. Tap the same reaction again to remove it.
Attach a photo or PDF
You can send photos and PDFs alongside your message: a picture from the weekend, a copy of an immunization record, or a signed form. The supported file types are JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, and PDF, up to 10 MB each, and you can attach more than one at a time. Pick your files, add a note if you like, and send.
Read-only after your child leaves
If your child no longer attends the school, your conversations switch to read-only. You'll still see the full history, but a banner reads Read-only β your child no longer attends this school, and you won't be able to send new messages or add reactions.
Messaging vs. talking to a director
Messages is your everyday conversation with teachers. If you need to send the director a private note (a billing question, a schedule change, a custody update, or a concern), use Talk to a director instead, which routes your note into the director's request queue and lets you track its status. See Send a message to your director.
