Respond to early enrollment invitations
Review the early access offers your school sends and commit, defer, or decline your child's spot before public enrollment opens.
When your school opens a class for next term, it can invite returning families to claim a spot before enrollment opens to the public. If there's an offer waiting for you, you'll find it on the Early access screen. Each invitation shows up as its own card.
What an invitation shows you
Each card lays out what you need to make the call:
- The class name, and a For [name] line when the offer is for a specific child
- The program and the dates the class runs
- The classroom, once one is assigned
- A deposit amount, when your school asks for one
- A seats bar that tracks how full the class is: "8 of 12 seats claimed"
- A status badge: Pending, Committed, Deferred, Declined, or Expired
If an offer is winding down, you'll see how long you have left to respond. Keep an eye on the seats bar, too. Once a class fills, the spot can go to another family.
Responding to a pending offer
Pending offers sit at the top of the list. Open the card, read through the class details and seat count, and pick one of three responses:
- Commit holds your seat and starts your child's application.
- Defer keeps the offer on your radar without moving forward yet. Your school will ask for a quick reason so they can follow up.
- Decline releases the seat so another family can take it.
A note is required when you defer and optional when you decline.
Web and app handle the note differently. In the app, Commit asks a yes-or-no confirmation, while Defer and Decline open a note sheet. On the web, every response opens a dialog where you can add a note. The choices and outcomes are the same on both.
What happens next
- Commit: Your school starts the application and reaches out by email with the deposit and signature step to finish enrollment.
- Defer: Your spot is held for now, and your school can re-open the offer with you anytime.
- Decline: The seat goes back to the pool. Your school can always invite you again later.
Your past invitations stay on the screen with their status and any note you left, so you can always see how you answered.
