Scheduled family emails

Available on Run and Grow

The end-of-day report and the weekly family digest go out on a schedule, not as Sunny drafts. Here is what controls each one.

Sunny never sends anything without a person approving it. Two emails to families are the exception, because they are scheduled communications built from what your teachers logged, not actions an assistant decided to take.

Neither asks for an approval each time, so it is worth knowing what controls them.

The end-of-day report

The report goes to a child's parents at the time your school sets, with a written recap of the day built from what teachers logged that day.

  • It is a school setting. You choose when it goes out.
  • It respects each parent's own notification preferences, including muting it for one child. A parent who turns it off stops receiving it.

See daily reports.

The weekly family digest

Each Sunday, every family with an enrolled child gets a digest of the week, written from the daily reports, moments and photos logged for their children. It arrives as a push notification and as an email.

  • A quiet week is skipped. If a family's reports, moments and photos for the week, added up across every enrolled child, come to fewer than three, Clear Day files a short "quiet week" note in the digest history and sends no push or email.
  • Each email has an unsubscribe link. A parent who uses it stops getting the digest email. The digest itself is still in the app.
  • There is no school-wide switch for it.

See the weekly digest.

If this matters for your licensing or policy

These two emails are what to look at if you are asked whether anything reaches families without a person approving it. Everything else Sunny writes waits as a draft. See drafts wait for your team.
