Lesson planning lives on the classroom, one week at a time. Sunny can take the first pass at it.

The weekly planner

Open a classroom and go to its lesson plan. You get Monday to Friday, each day a list of activities with a title, an optional description, and a free-form standards tag.

Manual planning is open on every plan, for teachers and admins alike. Add, edit and reorder activities as you like. Planned activities carry through to each present child's daily report automatically.

You can flip between this week and next week in the same grid.

Generate a plan (Grow)

Generate drafts the week for you. It's part of the Grow plan. On the Run plan an admin sees the button reading Generate — requires Grow plan, and teachers at a Run school don't see it at all, since changing the plan isn't theirs to do.

There's a companion action for suggesting next week, gated the same way. Activities Sunny wrote are marked as such in the grid, so a month later you can tell which lines were drafted and which you wrote.

Generating overwrites the week you're looking at, so use it to start from something rather than to tweak a plan you've already refined.

Hand the week to Sunny instead

Generate with Sunny opens Sunny's tray with this week's context already attached, so you can have an actual conversation about it ("make Thursday quieter, we're short-staffed", "swap the water play for something indoors") instead of one shot at a draft.

A note on the old Tools page

The website's separate Tools page (the one with coloring sheets, stories, songs and a saved library) has been retired, and its links now land on your dashboard. Lesson planning moved onto the classroom itself, and everything else Sunny used to do from that page it now does from the tray.
