Work offline, and pick it back up

In the app, asks made without signal queue up and send in order, exactly once. Jobs keep running with the app closed.
Playgrounds and field trips are where the signal goes. Queuing asks offline is an app feature. The web does not queue.
No signal: asks queue
Ask something with no connection and it does not fail. The status line reads "offline · 2 queued", and your ask shows as a dashed bubble marked QUEUED · SENDS WHEN BACK, with its place in line and a Cancel.
- Order is kept. Asks send in the order you made them.
- Exactly once. Each queued ask carries its own key, made when you queued it. A flaky reconnect can retry as often as it likes and still produce one job.
- Cancel is always there, even while it is retrying. Retries are automatic.
- Photos queue too. A photo attached to a queued ask is stored on the device with it, so it survives the app being closed.
When you are back online, the queue drains and each bubble fills in solid.
Jobs keep running with the app closed
An ask runs as a job on our servers. What you watch on screen is a window onto it. Close the app, lose signal or let the phone shut the app down, and the job carries on. Come back and the receipt is there, at the step it reached or finished, with any draft waiting.
To stop a job, choose Stop on its Working card. It asks "Stop this job?" first. The steps already finished stay on the receipt, marked as canceled by you.
Picking up on another device
Your conversation with Sunny lives on our servers, not on one phone. Open Sunny on another device and you land at a while you were away line, with anything that arrived below it. Approve a draft on one device and it turns solid on the other.

Recurring work and notifications
Set a job once ("every Friday at three, draft the newsletter") and control when Sunny is allowed to interrupt you.
Ask @sunny in staff messaging
Mention @sunny in a staff-only channel or direct message to get an answer in the thread. It can never be summoned into a conversation a family can see.
