Manage your school profile
Update your school's name, address, phone, state, and operating hours so attendance, licensing, and daily operations stay accurate.
Your school profile holds the core facts about your center: its name, address, phone, the state you're licensed in, and the hours you keep. Clear Day reaches for these details well beyond a mailing label. Your state sets the staff-to-child ratios it enforces across classrooms, and your operating hours set the business-hours window in attendance settings. Keep them current and the rest of the app stays honest.
Open the screen any time after onboarding. In the app it's the School profile screen. On the web it's the School profile page under your school.
Edit basic information
The top section (titled Details on the web) holds your center's identity:
- School name: required; you can't save without it
- Street address
- Apt, suite, unit: optional
- City
- State
- ZIP code
- Phone number
Only the name is required. The rest is optional, but worth filling in.
Add or correct your address with autocomplete
In the app, start typing in the Street address field. After a few characters, a list of suggested addresses drops down. Tap one and Clear Day fills in the street, city, state, and ZIP at once. If autocomplete isn't available on your device, type the fields by hand. Nothing is blocked either way.
On the web there's no autocomplete; type each field in directly.
Set operating hours by day
Below the basics sits the Operating hours section. These hours feed the business-hours window in attendance settings, so set them to match when your center is actually open.
Each day gets its own row:
- In the app, tap the day's short button (Mon, Tue, and so on) to flip it between open and closed. When a day is open, tap the open and close times to set them with the time spinner.
- On the web, toggle the Open / Closed switch for each day, then pick the open and close times.
You don't have to set all seven days one at a time:
- App: when a day is open, tap Apply to... under its times. Pick All weekdays (Mon–Fri) or All days to copy that day's hours across.
- Web: use the Apply Monday to weekdays link in the Operating hours header to push Monday's hours out to the rest of the weekdays.
Choose your licensing state
Open the State field and choose the state where your center is licensed, even if your mailing address sits somewhere else. As the helper text puts it, the state is "Used to determine state licensing ratios." Clear Day pulls that state's staff-to-child rules and enforces them across your classrooms.
To see the rules themselves, tap Licensing under School setup in the app, or open the State licensing page on the web. Both open the State licensing screen, where you can pick your licensing state. On the web, the page also lays out the ratio table: each age group, its age range, and the maximum children per teacher.
Save and verify
- Make your edits in the Details and Operating hours sections.
- Tap or click Save. In the app, Save stays disabled until the school name has a value.
- On the web you'll see a "School profile saved" confirmation. In the app, the screen closes and drops you back where you were.
- Reopen the screen any time to confirm your changes stuck, or to make more.
If you change your state, check your classroom ratios afterward. A new state means new ratio rules, and Clear Day starts enforcing them right away.
