Family memory, milestones and preferences

These panels sit on a family's Overview. They hold what you want every staff member to know, and they shape what Sunny writes to the family. Directors and admins can use them. In the app, the family page has the Memory and Milestones panels. The rest is on the web.

Memory

Memory holds short, factual sentences about a family. Select Add, write the fact and choose a Kind: General, People, Parent work, Child favorites, Child dislikes, Household rhythm, Cultural, Name preference, Recent event, Milestone or Preferences. Turn on Pin to top to keep a fact in the pinned strip, and set a Pin priority from 0 to 100 to control its order.

Sunny also suggests facts. They appear under Suggested with a confidence percentage. Accept saves one, Edit lets you fix the wording first, and Discard drops it. Nothing goes live until someone accepts it.

Backfill from history scans recent messages, notes and voice memos and proposes facts to review. If you see a short wait, it's rate limited. Try again in a moment.

Memory is for staff only. Parents never see it.

Milestones

Milestones shows dates worth a touch. A Next 30 days strip shows what's coming, and All milestones lists the next 365 days.

Birthday, Enrollment anniversary and First day come from student records and are marked Auto. You can't edit them, but you can Acknowledge them. To add your own, select Add and choose Family event, Classroom transition, Graduation or Custom. Those can be edited or archived.

A milestone is a dated reminder. A Milestone note records something that already happened.

Family preferences

Family preferences shapes every message Sunny drafts for the family:

• Communication channels
• Tone preference: Formal, Warm or Casual
• Preferred language
• Decision maker, if it's not the primary contact
• Priorities and Dietary restrictions
• Important people, with their relation
• Celebration style

Draft a message

Select Draft message, choose an Intent and a Channel, then Generate draft. Sunny writes from the family's brief, memory and preferences. You can Copy it, use Open email, and choose Log as outbound touch to record the contact. Clear Day doesn't send it. Send it from your own email or phone first.

The Brief at the top of the Overview summarizes the family's history. In the app, the Brief is available to admins only, and only when it's turned on for your school.

Signals on the record

• A relationship chip shows where the family stands: Active, Recent alumni, Alumni, Prospect or Inactive. It updates nightly.
• An alumni-return banner appears when a family has a real prior connection, such as "previously enrolled, 3 years away".
• Lifetime value is an estimate based on months enrolled, per child.
• The Handoff playbook panel holds a staff-to-staff briefing composed when a family moves between staff.
