Send documents for signature

Upload any PDF, send it to a parent for signature, and track every document by status from the eDocuments screen.

Sometimes you need a parent to sign something that isn't an enrollment agreement: a field-trip waiver, an updated handbook, a one-off contract. The eDocuments screen lets you upload any PDF, send it to a parent for signature, and watch it move through to signed.

You'll find it at eDocuments in your school's admin area.

This is separate from enrollment agreement signing. Enrollment agreements route automatically from an offer, and the provider connection for that lives on a different screen. See Connect and manage e-signature providers. eDocuments reuses that same connected provider, so connect one there first if you haven't.

Send a document

  1. Tap Send a document.
  2. Give it a Title: what the recipient will see, like Field trip waiver.
  3. Enter the Recipient name and Recipient email.
  4. Optionally set a Family to tie the document to a registered family. Leave it blank to send to a non-registered email recipient.
  5. Choose the PDF under PDF. The file must be a PDF. Clear Day uploads it, then sends it through your connected e-signature provider.
  6. Tap Send.

You'll see a confirmation that the document was sent for signature.

Clear Day never enforces signatures itself. The PDF goes out through whichever provider your school has connected, and that provider holds the signature.

Track documents by status

The Documents table lists what you've sent, showing each document's Title, Recipient, Status, and the date it was sent. A document moves through these statuses:

  • Draft: created but not yet sent.
  • Sent: delivered to the recipient.
  • Viewed: the recipient opened it.
  • Signed: the recipient completed the signature.
  • Declined: the recipient declined to sign.

Use the Filter by status dropdown above the table to narrow the list to a single status. Clear the filter to see everything again.

Group documents into a packet

To gather several documents under one name (for example, everything a new family signs at intake), tap New packet, give it a Packet name like 2026 admissions packet, and tap Create. You can then reference that packet when sending documents.

If a document won't send, confirm an e-signature provider is connected on the E-signature setup screen. For anything else, email [email protected].
