Connect and manage e-signature providers

Connect DocuSign, Dropbox Sign, or Clear Day Managed so enrollment agreements can be signed, and manage the connection over time.

Before a family can sign an enrollment agreement, your school needs a signing account connected. Once one is in place, Clear Day sends agreements through it and tracks them back to the offer. Without it, there's nowhere for a signature to land.

This is the E-signature setup screen. You'll find it under your school's admin settings.

Bring your own provider

Clear Day doesn't act as the signing authority. Your school stays the legal authority. You connect the account you already use, and Clear Day sends agreements through it. The provider is what holds the signature.

There are three options:

  • DocuSign: connect your existing DocuSign account.
  • Dropbox Sign: connect your existing Dropbox Sign account.
  • Clear Day Managed: for schools without their own account. Clear Day sends through DocuSign behind the scenes, so there's no provider account for you to open.

Pick Managed only if you don't already have a signing provider. If you do, connect that one directly.

Connect a provider

You authorize in the provider, then bring a short code back to Clear Day to finish.

  1. On the E-signature setup screen, find the Provider section (titled PROVIDER in the app) and select the provider you want: DocuSign, Dropbox Sign, or Clear Day Managed.
  2. Tap Connect DocuSign (the button names the provider you selected). This opens the provider's authorization page in your browser.
  3. Sign in to the provider and approve the connection. When you approve, the provider redirects to a Clear Day callback page that shows a code.
  4. Copy that code and come back to Clear Day. Under After you authorize (AFTER YOU AUTHORIZE in the app), paste it into the Paste code here field.
  5. Tap Complete connection.

When it finishes, you'll see confirmation that the provider is ready to send signature requests.

Why the code-paste step

This is intentional for now. Rather than hand you back to the app automatically after you authorize, the provider hands you a code, and you paste it in to confirm. It keeps the first version of this flow reliable across both the web app and the mobile app without depending on deep links. The extra copy-paste is the trade for that reliability.

Complete connection stays disabled until there's a code in the field, so you can't finish without pasting one first.

Check your current connection

When a provider is connected, the screen shows a status card at the top with a check mark, the connected provider's name, and a line reading Token refreshes automatically alongside a date.

That date is the access token's expiration. You don't need to act on it. The token refreshes on its own, so a connected provider keeps working without you reconnecting on a schedule.

Reconnect, disconnect, and switch

Reconnect. If a connection ever stops working, the connect button reads Reconnect. Run the same authorize-and-paste steps again to refresh it.

Switch providers. To move to a different provider, select the new one under Provider and connect it the same way.

Disconnect. On the status card, tap Disconnect. After disconnecting, you won't be able to send new signature requests until you reconnect a provider. Agreements you already sent still complete inside the provider's own system. Disconnecting in Clear Day doesn't cancel signature requests that are already out.

In the mobile app, Disconnect asks you to confirm first, since it's a destructive action. In the web app, it disconnects on tap.

Web and app

On the web, the header carries a Refresh button to reload the current status. The provider options, the connect flow, and the code-paste step are identical on both surfaces.

Once a provider is connected, agreements you send from an offer route through it automatically. If a connection won't complete, email [email protected].
