Run the CACFP compliance report
Check your published menus against USDA CACFP meal patterns automatically, see exactly what's out of pattern, and export a reviewer-ready claims file.
Clear Day can check what you've actually served against the USDA CACFP meal pattern, automatically, whenever you publish a menu. This is separate from the free-text Component label you add when authoring a menu. The report is the part that actually reads your meal pattern and tells you where it falls short.
Rolling out gradually
This feature sits behind a flag Clear Day is turning on school by school. If you don't see a CACFP report yet, it isn't live for your school. Ask your Clear Day contact where your school stands in the rollout.
How the check works
Every rule lives in a fixed table of USDA CACFP meal-pattern requirements: component, minimum serving size, and any whole-grain-rich requirement, by age group and meal type. Nothing here is decided by AI: the check is deterministic, so running it twice on the same menu always gives the same answer. Clear Day runs it automatically the moment you publish a menu day, and you can re-run it on demand from the menu if you've made changes.
Reading a result
Each check comes back with one of three verdicts:
- Compliant: every required component met its minimum.
- Non-compliant: at least one component fell short. Each failing item names the component, what was required, and what you logged instead, with a citation back to the rule.
- Insufficient data: Clear Day couldn't check a component because something wasn't logged, like a serving size. This isn't a pass or a fail. It's a nudge to fill in the gap.
Exporting for your reviewer
Open the report for a date range and export a CSV: meals served, per child, per day, against the compliance check for that day. It's built to hand to whoever files your claim.
Right now, every export carries a watermark (not for filing) until a named compliance reviewer has signed off on the rules table behind it. That's deliberate: CACFP is a federal reimbursement program, real money rides on a claim, and Clear Day would rather a human double-check the table once than have a school file off an unreviewed rule. Once your reviewer has signed off, ask your Clear Day contact to confirm the watermark is cleared for your school.
What this doesn't do
Clear Day checks and exports. It doesn't file your claim. That's still on you or whoever handles your CACFP paperwork today. And it only sees what's logged: if a meal was served but never recorded, there's nothing to check.
On the iPhone and iPad app, the report is read-only. Run it and make changes from the web.
