Withdraw a child

When a family leaves, withdrawing the child ends their enrollment and records why. It's the only way to set a child to Withdrawn: editing a child's profile won't end enrollment, because the reason and exit details wouldn't be captured. Only directors can withdraw a child, and only while the child is Active.

Withdraw a child

• On the web, open the child's profile and select Withdraw.
• In the app, open the child's profile and tap Withdraw at the top, or tap Withdraw student under the status in the edit form.

On the Withdraw student page:

1. Choose one or more Reasons: Moved, Cost, Schedule change, Dissatisfied with care, Dissatisfied with staff, Dissatisfied with curriculum, Child ready to advance, Chose competitor, Family circumstances or Other. At least one is required. Pick Other if nothing fits.
2. If you chose Chose competitor, pick one from your list or type a name you don't track yet.
3. Answer Would they return? with Not sure, Would return or Won't return.
4. Set the Withdrawal date. It defaults to today.
5. Leave Also remove them from their room on to take the child off the roster. It's on by default.
6. Add Exit interview notes in the family's own words, and Your assessment of what you think really happened. They can differ.
7. Select Withdraw.

The child's status becomes Withdrawn.

After you withdraw

Clear Day can offer a stay-in-touch message to the family so you can keep the door open while the goodbye is fresh. You can skip it.
