Run classroom timers
Start named countdown timers for naps and activities right from the classroom screen, several at once, with a chime when time's up.
A classroom can run several timers at once: one for nap, another for an activity across the room, however your day actually works. They live right on the classroom screen, so there's no separate app or phone timer to juggle.
Start a timer
Open a classroom and start a timer from there:
- Give it a label: "Nap" or "Art clean-up," whatever tells your team what it's for at a glance.
- Set the duration: anywhere from a few seconds up to 4 hours.
- Optionally attach it to specific children in the room, rather than the whole class: useful when only some kids are napping and the rest are up.
- Start it. It's safe to tap twice if your connection hiccups; Clear Day won't start a duplicate.
It runs on the server, not your phone
A classroom timer is server-authoritative: the countdown lives on Clear Day's server, not just on the device that started it. Close the app, hand the room to another teacher, or switch to a different device, and the timer is exactly where it should be: it doesn't reset, and it doesn't quietly drift.
Several at once
The classroom screen lists every timer that's running, or finished but not yet cleared, for that room. Glance at it to see everything in flight, without flipping between separate timers to check on each one.
Pause and resume
Tap a running timer to pause it, and tap it again to resume. The remaining time picks up where you left off.
When time's up
A timer chimes when it reaches zero. Pick which chime plays for you (Music box, Gentle bell, or Lullaby) from your own settings, so a room with two teachers can each hear a sound they recognize. A finished timer stays on the room's list until someone clears it, so a chime you miss doesn't just vanish.
Who can use them
Teachers and school admins can start, pause, resume, and clear timers for their classrooms.
