Photos, look and design presets

Photos and design are how your site stops looking like a template. Both are quick to change, and neither goes live until you publish.

Add photos

Open Website on the web, then choose Add photos. Once you have some, the same button reads Photos · 3, with your count.

Photos go in three places: Top of page, Gallery and About us. The gallery holds up to 8, and the order you put them in is the order families see.

1. Check I have permission to publish every photo I upload. The upload area stays off until you do.
2. Drop photos in, or choose Choose files. On a phone, choose Choose photos.
3. Open a photo to set where it shows, move its focus point, or write its description.

Photos must be JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 8 MB each. If one is too big, the page tells you to try a smaller one.

Don't have a good photo yet? Choose Find a stand-in photo. These are free photos of spaces, materials and play equipment, with no people in them, to use until you have your own. A stand-in shows a credit in small type under the photo. To swap it later, open it and choose Replace with mine. Choose Remove photo to take one off your site.

Every photo needs a description for screen readers. Sunny drafts one, marked ALT DRAFTED. Read it and change it if it's wrong, and the tag becomes ✓ ALT. The publish checklist warns you about photos without one.

The app can't add site photos yet. Use the web for this part. The look can be changed in either place.

Change the look

In the preview toolbar, choose Design. It shows your current visual family, like "Design: Quiet". The menu has two rows:

• Family sets the overall feel. The choices are Editorial, Quiet, Bright, Meadow, Hometown, Crayon Box and Construction Paper.
• Presets are whole looks: Sunny, Meadow, Classic, Playful and Modern.

One tap previews your choice and saves it to your draft.

Choose Custom to fine-tune:

• Accent: the color your buttons and highlights use.
• Tone: Warm, Playful or Classic.
• Font: Friendly, Classic or Modern.
• Corners: Soft or Round.
• Density: Airy or Cozy.
• Hero style: Photo, Color block or Soft.

Choose Done when you're finished. Try another look asks Sunny for a different take.

You can also just say it. In Sunny's chat, type what you want, like "Make it feel calmer," and choose Update the look. In the app, choose Change the design in the chat.

Before you publish

Look at the result in both views. The preview has Desktop and Phone buttons. A headline that runs to three lines on a phone is one of the things the publish checklist flags. See Preview your draft and restore an older version.
