Delete your account
Permanently delete your Clear Day account after confirming with your password.
Deleting your account removes you and your personal data from Clear Day for good. There's no undo and no recovery, so we ask for your password first.
Warning: Once your account is deleted, your personal data is gone and can't be restored.
Before you start
If you're the only admin for your school, Clear Day won't let you delete yet. Someone has to be left holding the keys. Invite another School Admin first, and you'll be free to go. (You can do that from People with Invite team: pick the School Admin role.)
If you try anyway, the delete is blocked and Clear Day tells you to assign another admin before continuing.
How to delete your account
- Go to Settings and open Delete account.
- Read the warning card, This action is permanent. It spells out the three things that matter: the delete can't be undone, your personal data is removed, and a sole admin has to hand off admin first.
- In the Password field, enter your password to confirm.
- Select Delete my account.
- A confirmation asks you to make sure. On the web it reads Are you sure? This cannot be undone. In the app it reads This permanently removes your account and personal data, and can't be undone. You'll be signed out right away. Choose Delete to go ahead, or Cancel to stay.
The moment you confirm, the account is deleted and you're signed out.
The screen is titled Delete account and the button reads Delete my account on both the web and the app.
A gentler option
If you just need a break, you don't have to delete anything. You can quiet things down in your notification settings, or reach out to Clear Day support if you need to change or step back from your role. Deleting is the door that doesn't reopen, so save it for when you really mean it.
