Locked out after too many tries
Available on every plan
After repeated failed sign-ins, Clear Day emails you a 6-digit code to unlock your account. Here's how to use it.
After repeated wrong passwords, Clear Day protects the account by asking for a one-time code it emails you. You'll know because the sign-in screen says "Too many attempts. We emailed a 6-digit code to unlock this account." (on the web, "We emailed you a 6-digit code. Enter it below to finish signing in.").
Get back in
- Open the email from Clear Day and find the 6-digit code. It's good for 15 minutes and works once.
- Enter it in the code field: Code on the web, Emailed code in the app.
- Enter your password again and select Sign in.
If you also use two-step verification, you'll enter your authenticator code too. The emailed code is a separate, extra step.
If the code doesn't work
- Request a new one. Select Resend code on the web, or Resend in the app. You can do that once every 30 seconds.
- Check spam for mail from [email protected].
- Use the newest email. A code that was already used, or has expired, is refused: "That code didn't work or was already used."
- Check the address. The code goes to the email on the account.
If you don't know your password
Guessing more just triggers the lock again. Reset your password instead. That also signs out every device.
Still locked out? Email support from the address on your account.
