Change your password
Available on every plan
Update your Clear Day password from Settings. You stay signed in here; other devices sign out.
You'll confirm your current password, then choose a new one. You stay signed in on this device. Every other device is signed out, so you sign in again there with the new password. If someone you didn't expect was in your account, this shuts them out.
Steps
- Open Settings and choose Change password.
- In Current password, enter the password you use today.
- In New password, enter the new one.
- In Confirm new password, enter it again.
- Select Change password.
On the web you'll see "Password changed" and land back on Settings.
If Verify it's you appears when you submit, enter your password in Password, plus the code from Authenticator code if you use two-step verification, and select Verify. Clear Day then finishes the change. It only asks when you haven't verified recently.
The four rules
A new password must:
- be at least 8 characters
- contain a lowercase letter
- contain an uppercase letter
- contain a number
It can't be longer than 72 characters. A checklist under the field shows which rules you've met as you type.
If it won't save
- The two new passwords don't match. Re-type both so they're identical.
- Current password rejected. Enter the one you sign in with today, not the new one. A wrong guess here counts toward sign-in lockout.
If you've forgotten your current password, you can't change it from here. Reset it instead.
