Change your email address

Move your Clear Day account to a new email by verifying the new address with a code and confirming your password.

Your email is how you sign in to Clear Day and where account mail lands. You can move your account to a new address yourself, right from Settings. Before the switch goes through, Clear Day checks two things: that you can actually receive mail at the new address, and that you know your current password. So have both ready.

What you'll need

  • Access to the inbox of the new address, to read the code Clear Day sends there.
  • Your current account password.

Your password doesn't change. After the switch, you sign in with the new email and the same password as before.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and choose Change email.
  2. Check that the Current email at the top is the account you mean to change.
  3. Type the new address in the New email field.
  4. Tap Send Code (Send code on web). Clear Day mails a 6-digit code to the new address. Two more fields appear: Verification code and Password.
  5. Open the new inbox, find the code, and enter it under Verification code.
  6. Enter your current account password under Password.
  7. Tap Update Email. Once it goes through, your account is on the new address and you stay signed in.

The code goes to the new address, not your current one. If it hasn't shown up after a minute, check spam, then tap Resend for a fresh one.

If something gets stuck

  • No code arrived. Look for a typo in the new address, then tap Resend. Delivery can take a minute.
  • It says "Failed to change email." Make sure the code is the most recent one you were sent, and that your password is right.
  • The address is already in use. If that email belongs to another Clear Day account, pick a different one or check with your administrator.

Next time you sign in, use the new email. To change your password too, see Change your password.
