Troubleshooting
Notifications aren't arriving
Push or email going quiet? Walk through device permissions, your in-app alerts, and email deliverability to get them back.
Clear Day sends push notifications to your phone, and email for some events. When one or both go quiet, it's almost always a permission or a setting standing in the way, not a message that vanished. Here's how to track it down.
Push notifications
- Let your phone show them. Open Settings > Clear Day > Notifications on your iPhone or iPad and turn on Allow Notifications.
- Check Focus or Do Not Disturb. A Focus mode will hold alerts back even when everything else is working. Allow Clear Day through, or add it to your exceptions.
- Check your alerts inside Clear Day. Open Settings > Notifications and confirm the categories you care about are on. Safety alerts stay on for everyone. While you're there, glance at Quiet Hours, since that mutes everything but safety during the window you set.
- Sign out and back in. That re-registers your phone for push, which clears up most cases where one device has gone silent.
Email notifications
- Look in spam and promotions. If you find a Clear Day email there, move it to your inbox. That teaches your provider where the next one belongs.
- Save our address. Add [email protected] to your contacts so our email lands in your inbox.
- Make sure we have the right address. Your email shows at the top of Settings. To change it, go to Settings > Change email.
Test it
Ask someone at your school to send you a message, or to post a daily report, and watch for the alert. If the app itself won't open so you can check, see the app won't load.
Still quiet after all that? Email [email protected] and tell us your device type and which alerts you're missing.
