Your home screen

Your home screen depends on your role and your plan. Anything with nothing to show is left off, so a quiet day is a short page.

Directors on Run and Grow

On the web, from the top:

• "You're all set." A one-time welcome the first time you land after setup.
• Closed today. If the school is closed, a banner reads "Closed today:" with the closing's name. For an unscheduled closing, an admin gets a Reopen button.
• Finish setting up. A checklist with items like "Complete your school profile," "Add your first classroom," "Invite your teachers" and "Publish your website." Hide it for a few days or collapse it. It goes away when everything is done.
• Absence line. Today's absence reports from families, with an Acknowledged mark. It clears tonight and is never attendance.
• The day. Today's date in your school's time zone, and "18 of 24 children on site." Below it: the weather, today's calendar events and a birthday card. The forecast comes from Apple WeatherKit, which receives only your school's location.
• Saved views. Quick counts for Overdue forms, Tours today and Unread. A count of zero isn't shown.
• Attendance ring and Enrollment pipeline. The ring shows how many expected children have checked in. The pipeline tile counts active prospects over the last 30 days and opens the Grow pipeline. These two are for school admins. The pipeline is part of Grow.
• The daily brief and director requests. The request tile reads "View queue."
• Shortcuts: School calendar, Upcoming absences, Head count, Incident reports, Spot checks, Teacher briefs, Progress reports and Free tools.
• Classrooms. The first few rooms with each child's status. Click Update on a child to check them in or out, mark them absent, or reset them. Add classroom and See all classrooms sit above the list.

Sunny's deck and "Needs you." Rolling out: if you don't see this yet, it isn't on for your school yet. The deck holds work Sunny has prepared for you to approve. "Needs you" gathers AI drafts, ratio alerts and schedule-change requests. They're separate lists, and both sit above the daily brief.

In the app, the director home opens with the date, a greeting by name and a weather line, then the same kind of sections. Search is on the School tab.

Teachers

The first time you open Clear Day in a browser session, you land in your assigned classroom. After that, your home is the same page directors see, without the admin-only parts: the setup checklist, saved views, attendance ring and pipeline.

If you haven't been assigned a room, you'll see "No classroom assigned." Ask your director to add you.

Parents

Parents see "Welcome back," their first name, and cards for Today, Report an absence, Menus, Autopay, Payment methods, Schedule requests and School calendar. Some cards appear only when your school uses that feature. See Report an absence or running late.

Free and Plus schools

A Free or Plus school has a different home: your website's status, this week's leads, free tools, and a "Do more with Clear Day" grid of locked Run and Grow features. See Find your way around Free and Plus.

The search box in the top navigation finds students, messages, people, families and classrooms. Type at least 2 letters, and press Enter for the full results page.
