Keep an honest waitlist
Available on every plan
Rolling out: if you don't see this yet, it isn't on for your school yet.
Share a waitlist link, put families in your order, and let each family see its real place in line.
The waitlist page is a public list families add themselves to. You set the order. Each family sees how many are ahead of it and nothing about anyone else. School admins can edit it. Find it under Daily Kit, on the Waitlist page card.
Being on this list is not an offer of a place, and nobody on it is messaged, invited or billed from here.
If you're on Grow, you also have an enrollment-pipeline waitlist with offers, tours and deposits. See Manage the waitlist and programs. This one is the free list you can run on any plan.
Share the link
The Share your waitlist card shows your link. Copy link copies it. Print QR poster opens a sheet headed "Join our waitlist", in Letter or A4. Get a new link replaces it: the old link and any printed QR codes stop working, but families already on the list keep their place and their own links.
A family opens the link on a phone and picks Which waitlist?, then gives the child's name, a birthdate or due date, and how to reach them. Afterward they see "You're on the list" and Your private link. That link is their only way back, and Clear Day can't resend it.
Work the board
The board has one pill per list, such as "Twos · 4". Rows are numbered in order. Select a row to open the family's details on the right.
- Reorder. Drag a row by its handle, or use the up and down arrows.
- Add a family for someone who called. Pick a list, or choose A new list… and name it. They go to the end and nothing is sent to them.
- Sibling priority and Staff child add a badge. A mark doesn't move anyone. You set the order.
- Export CSV downloads the list with contact details.
- Remove from the waitlist takes a family off. An Undo button appears for 10 seconds.
The board shows the first 2,000 families on a list. The CSV has everyone.
A row flagged "On the list 60+ days without a change" is worth a check-in.
What a family sees
Select a family and read What families see. A family sees a line like "2 families ahead of you in Twos". If someone behind it carries a priority mark, you might move them ahead, so the family sees "About 2 families ahead" instead of a false exact count.
The family's page has Leave the waitlist, which asks "Yes, leave the waitlist" before it takes effect. A family that leaves would rejoin at the back.
Move a family toward enrollment
For families who joined by link or that you added by hand:
- Move to registration queue puts the child in your registration queue, and they leave the waitlist. It needs a real birthdate, not just a due date.
- Offer a place on Grow opens Make an offer in the enrollment pipeline. On other plans, send the family your registration link instead.
Privacy
Teachers can view the board read-only, without contact details. Thirty days after a family leaves or you remove them, the child and caregiver details on that entry are erased.
