For families

Your child’s photos belong to you.
Even after they graduate.

Most childcare apps tie your child’s history to the school’s subscription. The school moves on, and years of photos, daily reports, and messages with the teacher you still think about go dark with it. Clear Day works differently. Your account stays yours, with read-only access to everything, for as long as you keep it. One login for every kid and every school they ever attend.

Three things that change for parents

One account that follows your family, school to school.

One account for every kid, at every school.

Photos and milestones don’t disappear when you switch schools. Your child’s history is yours, not a school subscription’s.

Switching schools? Two taps.

The new school adds you by email or phone. Same login, same history, same app. No second download, no “we couldn’t find your previous account.”

No fees buried in the fine print.

Pay by bank transfer or card. Many schools choose to absorb the card fee, and when they don’t, you’ll know the policy up front. No surprise auto-deductions, no fees buried on the receipt.

What stays with you

Your photos and milestones stay yours.

The first day. The art project that came home covered in glitter. The teacher who knew exactly how your kid liked their nap rolled out. Those moments belong to your family. We treat the data that way.

Export the whole archive whenever you want. Request full deletion if you ever decide that’s the right call. Switching schools doesn’t reset any of it. Canceling Clear Day doesn’t either.

  • Photos saved to your accountSaved to your account, not the school’s. Export them from the app whenever you like.
  • Daily reports in your languageOn iPhone and iPad, one tap translates the report summary and teacher notes into your language, right on your device, so nothing leaves your phone.
  • Milestones, yours to keepFirst steps. First word. The little story behind every learning moment your teacher logged.
  • Message history that survives a school changeConversations with teachers don’t evaporate when your enrollment ends. They stay readable in your account.
  • Receipts and statements for every paymentEverything you need for Dependent Care FSA reimbursement and the year-end review, available to download from the Stripe billing portal whenever you want.
Switching schools

How a move actually works.

Three steps. No re-onboarding, no second app, no “please reset your password” loop.

  1. 1

Tell your new school you already use Clear Day

Just give them the email or phone number on your account. They add you in under a minute.

  2. 2

Open the same app you already have

Your kids, your photos, your messages, your billing history. Same login. The new school is just a new tab inside it.

  3. 3

Pick up where you left off

Old conversations stay readable. New ones land alongside them. Changing schools doesn’t erase anything from your child’s history.

The everyday

From the waitlist to pickup, without phone tag.

Most of what a childcare app should do happens in small moments: the morning rush, the grandparent pickup, the “are we off the waitlist yet?” Here’s how those go.

See your actual waitlist spot

Open the link your school sends and see your family's place in line (a number, not a “we'll be in touch”), then confirm your spot from the same page. No account or password needed.

Book a tour without calling

Pick an open slot from the school's link. Life happens? Reschedule from the same link. Your old slot isn't released until the new one is booked.

Accept an offer from anywhere

When a seat opens, the offer arrives as a link. Read it, accept it, done: from your phone, before the seat goes to the next family.

Check in on your own phone

Skip the lobby line: check your child in from your phone at drop-off. A teacher confirms every self-check-in, so the school's count is always a person's count.

Pickup passes for the people you trust

Grandma's picking up on Thursday. Issue her a pass: name, photo, and an expiry you choose. Staff scan it at the door, and you can revoke it anytime.

A note home, when there's news

A short recap of your child's week: the moments, the photos, the little wins. A quiet week sends nothing at all, rather than a summary of nothing.

Fees and autopay

Nothing about your bill should be a surprise.

Childcare is already one of the largest line items in your budget. The software you use to pay for it shouldn’t add to it. Pay by bank transfer or card, and when a school passes a card fee through rather than absorbing it, you’ll know the policy up front, not on the receipt.

Autopay is yours to control. Turn it on if you want one less thing to remember. Turn it off whenever you want. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it automatically over the following two weeks instead of silently rolling into next month.

  • Pay by bank transfer or card, on the same screen.
  • When a school absorbs the card fee, there's nothing extra to pay.
  • Autopay you can toggle on or off, whenever.
  • A failed charge retries automatically over the following two weeks. No silent rollover.
  • Two parents can each be assigned their own share of one child's tuition.
  • To dispute a charge, talk to your director, who can refund it from their Stripe dashboard.
  • Pay with a Dependent Care FSA debit card like any other card, if your plan issues one.
Privacy & safety

Children’s data deserves real care.

Encrypted and US-hosted

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored on US-based infrastructure with strict access controls.

Never used to train AI

Your family’s information stays yours. Never shared, never sold, never used to improve AI models, including ours. The AI never touches photos.

Only the right people see it

You see only your own child. Staff see their own school, and no school’s data is visible to another. Permissions are built in from day one, and changes to your child’s record are recorded with who changed what and when.

Common questions from families

What happens to my photos if I switch schools?
They stay with you. Your account is yours, not the school’s subscription. Photos, milestones, and message history all remain readable when you log in next, regardless of which school you’re currently enrolled in.
Do I need to download a different app for each school?
No. One app, one login. If your current school is on Clear Day and you move to a new school that also uses Clear Day, you just open the app you already have. The new school becomes another tab inside the same account.
What if my new school isn’t on Clear Day yet?
Your account, history, and photos all stay where they are. You can still log in, export anything you want, and stay in touch with your previous school’s alumni community. The day your new school joins Clear Day, they can find you by email or phone.
How do payments work?
You pay tuition by bank transfer or card, on the same screen. Many schools choose to absorb the card fee; when a school passes it through instead, you’ll know the policy up front. Autopay is optional and can be turned off whenever you want.
Can two parents split the bill?
Yes. Your school can assign each co-parent their own share of one child’s tuition, tracked separately so each payer sees only their own portion and never the other’s. Automatically charging each payer on their own card is coming soon.
What about disputing a charge?
Reach out to your director about the charge. They can issue a refund directly from their school’s Stripe dashboard, where the refund sits alongside the original payment.
How is my data protected?
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored on US-based infrastructure with strict role-based access controls. Your data is never sold, shared for advertising, or used to train AI models. You can export everything from your account at any time, or request full deletion.
What happens if I delete my account?
Export first, right from the app: your data, your child’s photos, your milestones. Then deletion takes effect the moment you confirm: you’re signed out everywhere, your name and email are replaced with a placeholder, and your password stops working. There’s no 30-day window afterward and no way to undo it, so do the export before you confirm. Your child’s record stays with your school, which is the one that holds it; ask them, or us, to remove it. (Leaving a school doesn’t touch your account: you keep reading that school’s photos and messages. If the school itself cancels Clear Day, its records are exportable for 30 days and then deleted.)

A note from the founders

We’re parents too.

The app our family used disappeared the day our oldest moved up to elementary. Years of first words and first projects, gone behind a subscription that wasn’t ours. Clear Day is the software we wanted then: the account belongs to the family, and the history follows the kid.

The longer story is on the about page. If your school isn’t on Clear Day yet, the most useful thing you can do is forward the pricing page to your director.

The Clear Day founders

Tell your school you’d like Clear Day.

If your child’s school isn’t on Clear Day yet, the easiest path is to forward our pricing page to your director. We make it free for them to try for two weeks, and we’ll handle the migration from whatever they use now.
