Enroll families in billing plans
Put a family on a billing plan, preview the next 90 days of invoices, and pause, resume, or end the enrollment when things change.
Once you've built a billing plan, you put a family on it and Clear Day starts generating their invoices. Enrolling sets three things: the plan, the start date, and an optional tuition amount just for that family. Before you commit, you get to see the next 90 days of invoices. Later, you can pause, resume, or end the enrollment whenever a family's situation changes.
This is an admin surface.
Open a family's billing
On the web, go to the family record and open its billing page. The heading reads Family billing. You'll see every plan the family is on, each with its status, start date, and a 90-day preview.
In the iOS app, open the family's billing list. The screen is titled Family billing too.
If nobody's on a plan yet, the web shows No billing plan assigned yet and the app shows No active plan assignments.
Assign a plan
- Tap Assign plan on the web (top right) or Assign in the app (top right).
- Under Billing plan, pick the plan. Only active plans show up here: archived ones are hidden.
- Set the Start date. In the app, type it as
YYYY-MM-DD. - If this family pays a different tuition than the plan's base, enter a Custom tuition amount in dollars. Leave it blank to use the plan's tuition.
- Submit with Assign on the web or Assign plan & preview invoices in the app.
Clear Day saves the enrollment and shows the invoices it's about to generate. On the web you'll see a Plan assigned confirmation in the same dialog; in the app the preview appears right under the form.
Check the 90-day preview
The preview lists each invoice for the next 90 days. On the web it appears right after you assign. Each line shows the billing period, due date, and amount, and you tap Done to close it. In the app it shows under Next 90 days, with the due date and amount for each invoice. If nothing falls in that window, you'll see "No invoices in the next 90 days."
On the web, every plan row keeps an Upcoming (90 days) section, so you can come back and recheck the schedule any time. In the app, the row shows the next invoice's due date and amount.
Custom tuition for one family
A custom tuition amount overrides the plan's base tuition for this family only: the plan itself doesn't change. Enter the amount in dollars; leave it blank and the family pays the plan default. When you set one, the family's row shows a custom tuition note with the override.
Pause, resume, and end
Each plan row offers actions that match its status:
| Status | Actions |
|---|---|
| Active | Pause, End |
| Paused | Resume, End |
| Ended | None |
Pause holds invoicing until you resume. If you recorded a reason when pausing, it shows on the row (web).
Resume starts invoicing again on a paused enrollment.
End closes the enrollment. No further invoices generate after the end date. The web asks you to confirm ("End this plan?"); the app warns "No further invoices will generate." Ending is permanent, so when you only need a temporary stop, reach for Pause instead.
In the iOS app, you can also tap Edit on a row to change the plan, start date, or custom tuition on an enrollment that's already running.
